fruit:

  • length 3-5 cm, diameter: 2-4 cm
  • irregular shape similar to Naga Viper pepper
  • markedly wrinkled fruit with a typical pointed outgrowth resembling the tail of a scorpion

plant:

  • rather spacious and spreading bush with a firm crown
  • up to 150 cm tall and 90 cm in diameter
  • larger, oblong, deep green leaves
  • white flowers

cultivation:

  • the seeds germinate in 14 days at 28°C, or even over 4 weeks at lower temperatures
  • the flowers sometimes present with lower percentage of pollination
  • fits among the varieties trickier to cultivate
  • best results in a glass or plastic green-house

use:

  • very hot sauce
  • dried, crushed and ground peppers make for an exclusive spice
  • CAUTION: extreme heat even in trace amounts!
