fruit:

  • thin-walled, oblong, bumpy and wrinkled
  • brown-red colour
  • often 6-8 cm in length, 2.5-3.5 cm in diameter
  • extreme heat with early onset
  • subtle and unmistakable aroma
  • CAUTION: the brownish droplets on the inner walls of ripe fruit may burn your skin

plant:

  • pointed, ovoid, smooth and veiny leaves
  • up to 150 cm tall
  • branched, with a firm stem
  • white or green-white flowers

cultivation:

  • longer vegetation period and ripening of the fruit
  • bettern sown in January, seedlings thrive in additional lighting
