fruit:

  • turban-like shape with a pointed outgrowth resembling the tail of a scorpion
  • the fruit ripens from green to light red colour
  • medium meaty, wrinkled and glossy pulp
  • CAUTION: extremely hot!

plant:

  • may grow taller than 1 meter
  • medium size, ovoid and pronouncedly veined leaves
  • white flowers

cultivation:

  • maintaining a stable temperature above 25°C, these seeds také 2-4 weeks to germinate
  • best sown as early as possible due to longer vegetation period, seedlings need additional lighting
  • plants prosper at higher temperatures up to 30°C
  • glass or plastic green-house is ideal, but the plants will bear crops even when cultivated on a patch

use:

  • extremely hot sauce
  • crushed or ground fruits make for a very hot spice
  • adds unique aroma into mixes
